Summary

Responsible for providing safe, effective, evidence based and comprehensive podiatry services.

Education / Qualification Required:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3 year diploma in Podiatry from an accredited program or equivalent coupled with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in related field.

Desired:

  • Master’s Degree in Podiatry or Doctor of Podiatry coupled with minimum of 1 year post qualification experience in related field.

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Two (2) years post qualification experience in related field if holding Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Podiatry
  • Minimum One (1) year post qualification experience in related field if holding Master’s Degree in Podiatry or Doctor of Podiatry

License:

  • Current and in a Good Standing License to practice as a Podiatrist.
  • BLS/ACLS Certification 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  •  Maintains sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of
    duties
  • Reports shortage of materials to supervisor at the earliest convenience, ordering and approving replenishments when necessary
  • Monitors and orders appropriate materials/equipment following discussion with senior staff
  •  Assists in the budget responsibilities depending on delegation of responsibilities in section/department
  • Provides all administrative work related to the daily operation of the podiatry department
  • Participates in developing future strategies for the benefit of Hospital patients
  • Assists in minor surgery, Diabetic wound management and assessment
  • Participates in the Bio mechanical assessments and production of orthotic devices and patient treatments which includes Children’s Foot Health
  • Compiles Record daily statistics regarding hours worked and consultations performed, and forward monthly to the rehabilitation Department Head
  • Assists in the medication for topical use as per the podiatry pharmaceutical list agreed by the podiatry task force
  • Assists in surgery procedures as requested.
  •  Manages and documents all patient contacts as required by the Medical Record Documentation policy, using the computer as appropriate. Ensuring compliance with all safety and quality control programs and procedures as applicable

  • Ensure all documents and all interventions are in the appropriate format
  •  Ensures patient receives the highest standard nutrition services and care.
