Staff Nurse – VIP Unit
Summary
Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, in close collaboration with medical and other healthcare team members demonstrates advanced nursing knowledge and applies this knowledge to the assessment, diagnosis, delivery and design of nursing care and interventions in the Medical Unit. Function under a collaborative management model where Medicine and Nursing jointly participate in decisions.
Education / Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- OR Associate Degree/Diploma or country equivalent + Bachelor’s in Nursing related field
Experience:
- Experience from North America, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience post-qualification.
- Minimum of one (1) year in antenatal or a related specialty.
License:
Current and in good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate advanced nursing knowledge and clinical competence in providing care to VIP patients, ensuring personalized and high-quality service delivery.
- Act as an advisor and resource person for evidence-based nursing practices specific to the VIP Unit.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver advanced nursing care, within the scope of the Registered Nurse (RN) license, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of VIP patients.
- Establish and maintain clear, effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless and coordinated care.
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring the rights, dignity, and preferences of VIP patients are respected and prioritized.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation and record-keeping, adhering to hospital and department guidelines.
- Assess patient and family educational needs, readiness to learn, and provide tailored discharge planning, leveraging appropriate resources to ensure smooth transitions.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of nursing initiatives, quality improvement projects, and educational programs designed to enhance patient care and experience.
- Lead or participate in clinical audits and research activities to improve practices, contribute to knowledge, and advance the nursing profession.
- Maintain compliance with infection control measures and contribute to the unit’s quality and safety standards.
- Evaluate systems and processes to optimize patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness, making recommendations based on evidence-based practice.
- Develop, review, and implement policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines to ensure the delivery of exceptional care in the VIP Unit.
- Serve as an expert educator and mentor, supporting the professional growth of clinical staff, nursing students, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Take initiative in performing duties with minimal supervision, demonstrating accountability for decisions, actions, and behaviors.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to VIP patients and families, ensuring their experience reflects the highest standards of care.
- Ensure the VIP environment is maintained to the highest standard of comfort, cleanliness, and privacy, reflecting the unit’s premium care objectives.
- Participate in staff development activities, maintaining and enhancing professional competence through training, mentorship, and self-directed learning.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, supporting the goals and operational efficiency of the VIP Unit.
