Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian National Guard – Health Affairs, to provide patient care; education and training for Associate Consultants, Assistant Consultants and Neurology Residents, Medicine residents, National Guard physicians; supervise clinics, monitor quality improvement program; undertake clinical research; self education and participate in on-calf schedule of the Division of Neurology.

Education / Qualification Required:

Basic medical degree from recognized institution
Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
  - USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  - Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
  - UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
  - Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
  - Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide high-standard patient care in accordance with the NGHA mission, vision, and values in Neurology within the Department of Medicine.
To provide inpatient care for the Neurology patients admitted to the hospital either as the MRP or the covering physician during rest hours, weekends, holidays, or vacations of the MRP, accepting the inconvenience associated with the patient needs.
To provide care to Neurology patients in the ambulatory care facility. The duration and frequency of this service is dictated by the needs and the regulations of the organization, the Department of Medicine, and the Division of Neurology.
To provide Neurology consultations services to other divisions within the Department of Medicine and other Departments within the organization during the regular working and the on-call hours.
To perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic interventions and procedures in patients with neurological disorders for which he/she has been granted specific privileges based on his/her training, qualifications, experience, and skills.
To participate in interpreting and reporting the neurological procedure such as EEG, Evoked Potential and Nerve Conduction study, and to perform EMG.
To participate in the on-call e-0verage in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Division of Neurology, the Department of Medicine.
To actively participate in Quality Improvement program of the department.
To provide close supervision of the clinical performance of subordinates and to provide them with u role model especially those in training.
To supervise the Neurophysiology Technologists and train them in her/his field of experience.
To serve in divisional, departmental, and organizational committees as appointed by tJ1e Head, Division of Neurology, Chairman, Deportment of Medicine, or the Executive Management of the organization.
To participate in scientific research, contribute into the department educational activities and post graduate training programs in Neurology or Internal Medicine 11S well as education for Neurophysiology trainees.
To adhere to all rules and regulations of the Division, department, and organization. Consultants are expected to familiarize themselves and comply with both the APPs and lPPs.
To comply with all the professional and ethical standards and express adherence to the Medical Stall Bylaws of the organization.
To show the expected respect, at all times, to patients, their families, colleagues, subordinates, and all other members of the healthcare team,
To perform and supervise the intra-operative electro physiological studies, including neurosurgery and orthopedic.
To perform intra-operative electrooculography and cortical stimulation together with cortical mapping.
To perform and participate in epilepsy monitoring studies and participate in epilepsy conferences.
To perform outpatient in neurophysiological studios like EEG, NCS & EMO plus single nerve stimulation.
